Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) is seeking an experienced and skilled Counselling Coordinator to lead and support wellbeing initiatives that drive student success and contribute to a fulfilling professional environment for staff.

About the Role:

As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Counselling Coordinator will provide leadership and consultation to improve student outcomes through proactive wellbeing frameworks, while supporting the professional growth of school-based wellbeing teams.

We are seeking a collaborative and skilled individual who will deliver a range of services. You will deliver high level advice and proactivity in the area of supporting Counselling. You will work in collaboration with schools and partner with the leadership team. More specifically you will:

  • Providing leadership and consultation to the system to develop proactive wellbeing frameworks and processes

  • Working collaboratively with school communities to support implementation of initiatives and programs that promote the wellbeing of students/school communities

  • Coordinating and building the capacity of Wellbeing Counsellors to provide a comprehensive support service to students and families

  • Providing consultation in relation to the management of significant wellbeing issues impacting school communities

  • Provide leadership to a team of school counsellors and leading counsellors in CSPD

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:

  • Be a registered psychologist or a social worker eligible for membership of the  Australian Association of Social Workers

  • Have the capacity to make a significant contribution within schools to matters related to student welfare and wellbeing

  • Demonstrate the capacity to engage students, parents and teachers in the counselling process

  • A demonstrated commitment to and support for the ethos and mission of the Catholic Church.

  • Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans.

  • A collaborative and respectful approach to teamwork, aligned with the values and culture of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD).

  • Commitment to continuous professional learning and growth and Understanding of and adherence to CSPD policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.

  • Ability to identify, report, and assist in mitigating organisational risks.

Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications

  • Eligible for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers ( AASW)  OR  general registration as a psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
