Parramatta Marist High School is currently inviting applications from passionate and dynamic Casual Secondary Teachers to join our dedicated and collaborative teaching team. Successful applicants will be engaged on a day-to-day basis to provide relief for temporary or permanent staff who are on short-term leave. Casual teachers may be asked to cover a variety of subject areas according to the needs of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and pedagogical frameworks.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that supports student growth and participation.
Effectively manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies and procedures.
Assess and provide timely feedback on student learning as required.
Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the broader life of the school community, where appropriate.
Essential Criteria
A commitment to supporting the mission and Catholic ethos of Parramatta Marist High School.
Sound knowledge of secondary curriculum areas and contemporary teaching practice.
Ability to confidently lead learning across a range of subjects and year groups.
Capacity to work collaboratively within a team-teaching environment.
High-level proficiency in the use of ICT to support learning in a blended classroom context.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
Ability to follow up on student wellbeing and behaviour concerns in consultation with school leaders.
A demonstrated understanding of child safeguarding practices and professional boundaries.
Employment
Casual teachers are employed by Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) under the NSW and ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
