The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is looking for a skilled, contemporary and passionate Primary K-6 Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.

Teachers within the Diocese are responsible to the Principal and share in the learning and teaching of subject matters to students of the school community. Teachers are responsible for delivering high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community they serve which is embedded in the Catholic world view. It is a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church.

Key focus areas

The Primary K-6 Teacher will fit the following criteria:

  • Have a deep understanding of how to structure lessons that support the physical, social, and intellectual development of all students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. They will be knowledgeable about Key Learning Areas, including Religious Education, and adapt content to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Be skilled in recognising and applying key concepts, structures, and inquiry processes to create individualised learning programs that are developmentally appropriate and tailored to support students' unique learning requirements.

  • Foster safe, inclusive, and challenging learning environments, implementing effective behaviour management strategies that support all students, including those with additional learning needs.  Teachers continuously reflect on and evaluate their practice, using student assessment data to identify barriers to learning and provide targeted support that encourages progress.

  • Work effectively across all stages of the teaching and learning cycle, ensuring that planning, assessment, program development, teaching, feedback, and reporting are tailored to support students' specific learning needs and strengths.

  • Actively engage with the broader school community, both inside and outside the classroom, to promote a collaborative approach to student learning. They work to strengthen the partnership between school, home, and community, supporting the social, emotional, and intellectual growth of students with diverse learning needs.

The Organisation

Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney. 

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
