The College Community
Having commenced in 2017 with 86 students across Kindergarten to Year 6, St Luke’s at Marsden Park is a next generation learning community within the Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD). As a ‘next generation Catholic Learning Community’ we are designing and establishing the ‘new normal’ for preschool to post school learning in an environment characterised by a flexible, stage based curriculum which nurtures and grows faith-filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world. In 2025 we will have enrolled 1800+ students from Kindergarten to Year 12 in addition to 77 children per day in our long day centre.
The Role
The Diversity Teacher is an adaptive expert who works alongside leaders and teachers in a variety of modes to share their knowledge, understanding and expertise. The Diversity Teacher works with the Diversity Leader to ensure that diversity perspectives are incorporated into all aspects of school life. The Diversity Teacher:
Promotes meaningful and age appropriate learning for all students.
Assists the Diversity Leader in determining an appropriate specialist teaching mode for each student with additional needs.
Work collaboratively to plan and implement school programs with a diversity perspective.
Assist the classroom teacher in identifying and prioritising vulnerable students.
Collaboratively develop student profiles and personalised learning plans for vulnerable students
Work with classroom teachers to map and monitor the progress of vulnerable students.
Model inclusive teaching practices in order to build the capacity of classroom teachers.
Work collaboratively within the learning space to build the capacity of students to participate and succeed in regular classroom activities.
Assist with the delivery of professional learning opportunities for all staff in their field of expertise.
Perform specific tasks as directed by the principal or their delegate.
Please Note: The Diversity Teacher is a resource for the whole school community.
It is highly desirable that they have:
extensive experience as a classroom teacher.
expertise with CEDP’s upper primary literacy and numeracy support programs, or similar.
Or a willingness to learning the above
As a K-12 school we are very open to exploring a candidate with primary experience wanting to work with secondary students
Qualifications and accreditations:
Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
Eligibility to teach in NSW according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
