Bede Polding College is seeking a passionate and innovative Secondary Music Teacher & Assistant Leader Of Learning for a full-time, temporary role commencing in Term 3, 2025. This position also includes a 1-point time allocation for extracurricular coordination, along with an additional 1-point Assistant Leader of Learning for CAPA

The successful candidate will:

  • Foster a deep understanding of students and their learning styles through inclusive, learner-centred pedagogy

  • Demonstrate expertise in Music teaching across Stages 4 to 6, utilizing a variety of teaching methods, strategies, and technologies such as notation programs, digital audio workstations, and sound systems

  • Manage tuition and ensemble programs effectively

  • Lead instrumental and worship ensembles, as well as direct large group singing rehearsals (preferred)

  • Collaborate with the learning team to design and implement effective teaching programs, in line with data, the College’s strategic direction, curriculum, and available resources

  • Show a strong commitment to the values of Catholic Education and actively support the academic, pastoral, and Catholic aspects of College life

  • Assess student learning, provide feedback, and report on progress

  • Participate in professional development initiatives alongside staff

  • Engage professionally with colleagues, parents, and the community, including organizing events, concerts, and performances for the College and beyond

  • Have experience teaching Stage 6

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation (Working with Children Check clearance)

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • A tertiary qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
