St John XXIII - Primary Diverse Learning Teacher - Intervention (K-6)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Diverse Learning Teacher to deliver targeted interventions for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. This role requires collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families to design and implement personalised learning plans that support student growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead specialised intervention programs tailored to individual student needs, promoting growth in key learning areas of Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Work alongside classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Regularly monitor and assess student progress, adapting interventions as needed to optimise outcomes.
  • Offer guidance to teachers on effective classroom strategies for diverse learners.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and caregivers to ensure a cohesive support system.
  • Keep accurate records to document student progress and program efficacy.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, with a focus on inclusive education or intervention preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with diverse learners, including students with special needs, in a primary school setting.
  • Certified and experienced in delivering MultiLit programs and literacy interventions to improve student outcomes, or willing to be trained.
  • Strong understanding of intervention strategies, differentiated instruction, and inclusive practices.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications and accreditations

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
