Penola Catholic College is a Year 7-12 co-educational College centred on quality contemporary learning practices around the values of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
The College requires a temporary part-time Administration and Teacher's Aide to work 2 days a week in the front office of the school and the other 3 days to give support to teachers, individuals and/or groups of students in a classroom setting. The days of work will be Monday to Friday. The commencement date for this temporary part-time position is Friday 31 January 2025.
Key Responsibilities would be to:
Administration:
Knowledge of the Student Management System Compass
Secretarial and clerical duties; including typing, word processing, data entry, google applications and maintaining emails
Processing of postage and delivery of mail
Knowledge and ability to operate complex office equipment, online and digital applications
Direct telephones calls and messages to the relevant personnel appropriately
Maintain accurate information including student attendance and enrolment data on Compass
Assist with maintaining accurate electronic rolls and attendance records on Compass
Attending to students in Sick Bay will follow up communication with parents
Maintain documentation for evacuation and lockdown procedures
Assist with maintaining medication and ensure all Medical Alerts are current
Hold a current First Aid Certificate
Maintain injury and incident reports
Maintain student files and upload all relevant information
Maintain transport applications for students
Obtaining quotes for transport requirements at the College
Assist other support staff on a needs basis as directed by the Office and Business Managers
Other duties as assigned by the Principal Leader
Teacher's Aide:
Support students with additional needs within the classroom context
Differentiate / adjust material to enable learners’ access in 1:1 and small group contexts
Support student wellbeing within daily routines
Support the Learning Support Team in the upkeep of records and documents related to students’ additional needs
Support the Learning Support Team in preparation of student profiles and data
Position Criteria:
Detailed knowledge of complex office procedures
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
Demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative, organise resources and meet deadlines
Ability to interact with school staff, students and members of the school community
Ability to communicate with new prospective families to promote enrolment to the College
Prior knowledge of the Compass Student Portal would be seen as an advantage.

Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines
