At, Gilroy Catholic College, Castle Hill, we are seeking a TAS teacher to join us from 31 January 2025 to 29 August 2025 on temporary full time basis.

Key focus areas

The Secondary TAS Teacher will fit the following criteria:

  • Ability to teach Stage 5 Design and Technology
  • Extensive, contemporary and authoritative professional knowledge and understanding of the teaching of technology and the factors that influence learning and the development of skills.
  • Use effective pedagogies, a range of differentiated assessment approaches and a wide variety of stimulating and interactive resources to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Build effective relationships and manage complex interactions and balancing the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Create engaging, intellectually challenging and safe learning environments through planning, implementing and evaluating rigorous and inclusive learning programs.
  • Make a positive difference to the learning outcomes of the students taught.
  • Sensitive and responsive to all aspects of the context in which they teach including use of technology and other resources, teaching practices and ways in which assessment and feedback is provided to students.
  • Excellent teachers of Technology are committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.
  • They work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.
  • Exhibit personal approaches characterised by caring and respect for others.
  • Mandatory Stage 4 Technology

 Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
  • Statements of Service
