The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Farm Hand/General Assistant to provide support to our Technology and Applied Science department. The successful applicant will have the physical ability to safely operate and maintain school machinery, take care of livestock and keep inventory. This will also include working some hours on Saturday morning (flexible).

The successful candidate
The College Farm Hand/General Assistant will be required to:
Assist teachers where necessary
Safely operate and maintain school machinery
Maintain school property (including sheds, plumbing and fencing)
Correctly store all feed, chemicals, fertilisers and seed in vermin proof, weatherproof, properly labelled containers.
Harvest mature vegetable crops and assists in the disposal of produce.
Document all maintenance in a farm equipment log.
Document and manage the pickup, receipt, storage and inventory of all farm supplies, e.g fertiliser, livestock feed, seed, chemicals, from the place of delivery to the storage area
The Qualifications:
A Current Paid NSW Working with Children Check
A Current First Aid Certificate
Australian resident or citizen
The physical ability to perform listed responsibilities
Capacity to work with other professionals to improve practice
A pro-active, positive attitude
