Penola Catholic College is a Year 7-12 co-educational College centered on quality contemporary learning practices centered on the values of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop.
The College requires a teacher’s aide for 60 hours per fortnight, to be worked Monday to Friday commencing in 2025. This is a temporary position.
Teacher's Aides are accountable for:
Support of the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines
Demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel
Strong planning and organisation skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain the quality of assigned work
The successful applicant will be able to work collaboratively with teachers and as part of the Learning Support Team. They will be working with a select group of students only and will have the capacity to:
Support students with additional needs within the classroom context
Differentiate / adjust material to enable learners’ access in 1:1 and small group contexts
Support student wellbeing within daily routines
Support the Learning Support Team in the upkeep of records and documents related to students’ additional needs
Support the Learning Support Team in preparation of student profiles and data

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPD'S Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
