Penola Catholic College is a co-educational College centered on quality contemporary and learning practices and the values of St Mary MacKillop. The College is seeking a new staff member with a passion for building student wellbeing and learning capacity. The position will work in a dynamic team addressing the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people.
Previous experience in a similar role is not essential and a secondment will be considered through our system.
The successful applicate will be a member of the School Leadership Team.
This position will attract a 3-point higher duties paid allocation with 0.3 FTE time release, and all teaching KLA areas will be considered.
Position Criteria
The successful person will be responsible for:
Facilitating the development of the Pastoral Care and Wellbeing program Years 7-12 with the Wellbeing Team
Working strategically in an authentic and dynamic partnership supporting the wellbeing and learning responsibilities with Year Leaders of Learning
Developing proactive and responsive strategic plans to promote positive student wellbeing and student management strategies
Designing targeted programs to address social, emotional interventions and mental health/wellbeing needs of students and their families
Co-developing student risk management behaviour and/or attendance plans with the Wellbeing Team members, Councillor, Diversity leader, Leadership Team and CSPD system leaders

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 80 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CSPD'S Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
