About the opportunity:

We have an opportunity for a Primary K-6 (RFF) teacher to join our community on a temporary part-time or temporary full-time basis. This position will involve teaching across a range of Key Learning Areas to service the needs of the school. You will work alongside a collaborative and community oriented team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student. More specifically you will:

  • Structure lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of each student, meeting them where they are at in their learning journey.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans.
  • Evaluate all aspects of your teaching practice to ensure you are meeting the learning needs of each student.
  • Interpret and use student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance, improving the overall academic achievement of the school community.
  • Effectively manage the learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers.
  • Engage with our school community within and beyond the classroom to enrich the educational context for students and work to promote the links between school, home and community in the social and intellectual development of your students.

 

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role, you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of St Bernadette’s, along with:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Education
  • Working with Children Check clearance
  • Demonstrated knowledge or experience on student wellbeing focused programs and/or initiatives
  • Sound knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic faith and mission in Catholic education.
