About the opportunity:

The Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking two Specialist Teachers - Sensory Disability (Hearing and Vision) to work within the Inclusive Learning Team to support our Strategic Intent of improving learning outcomes for all students and promoting a professional and rewarding working life for teachers.

The Specialist Teacher is accountable for:

  • Understanding and supporting inclusive practice in school culture in relation to the effective implementation of personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability

  • Understanding and supporting the Personalised Planning process and identification of adjustments

  • Providing specialised teaching support services to schools aimed at building teacher capacity using a gradual release model

  • Providing expert advice to leadership teams, teachers and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and/or additional needs in accordance with CSPD guidelines

  • Working collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access and participation and to maximise learning outcomes for students with additional needs.

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment with the purpose and core values of CSPD along with:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)

  • Post graduate qualifications in Deaf or hard of hearing and Vision or related field
    Previous experience working with vulnerable students

  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with leaders, teachers and students and support an inclusive learning environment

  • Hold a valid NSW Drivers licence & have the ability to travel between our schools
