About the opportunity:

We are looking for a skilled Leader of Learning on a full-time permanent basis, commencing in Term 1, 2024.

The Leader of Learning will:

  • Support and implement the goals and values of Catholic education and the strategic priorities of the School

  • Demonstrate the highest levels of personal and professional integrity

  • Be committed, passionate and knowledgeable about teaching and learning in their subject area

  • Be involved in the selection and induction of new staff

  • Guide staff in managing and supporting students on Personalised Plans and Behaviour Plans

  • Collaborate with students, staff, leadership and parents in order to support the needs of the community

  • Work with CSPD Support  & Learning Teams

  • Drive the pedagogical vision of the School within the broader educational life of the School

  • Lead staff with vision, purpose and a strong commitment to excellence

  • Promote and understand the importance of assessment practice, data analysis and feedback to enhance learning

  • Prepare students for changing demands of a global community

  • Establish a positive relationship with students, their families and the broader community

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment with the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:

  • An understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches

  • Extensive knowledge of the content and sequence of Key Learning Areas

  • Excellence in Literacy and numeracy pedagogy is required

  • A strong focus on behaviour management and student wellbeing

  • Knowledge and implementation of a variety of online and multimedia programs to support student learning 

  • A demonstrated understanding of what constitutes effective, developmentally appropriate strategies in learning and teaching programs

  • Ability to make content meaningful to students

  • A commitment to work with and within a collaborative team environment

  • Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills

  • Able to assist in motivating staff and students to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning

  • PBS4L experience would be valuable

Qualifications and accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)

  • Statements of Service
