Teacher Librarian
Are you a passionate and innovative educator with a love for literature, information literacy, and fostering a vibrant learning environment ? St Patrick’s Marist College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher Librarian or Teacher in charge of the library to join our permanent full-time staff. Reporting to the Principal, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teaching and learning across the College by championing effective library and information services and programs that empower our students to become lifelong learners.

About the role:
Permanent full time position commencing as soon as possible.
This is an exciting opportunity for a NESA qualified teacher to support teaching and learning at St Patrick’s Marist College. As our Teacher Librarian, you will manage the College library, cultivating an environment where learning is highly valued and actively embraced. Working collaboratively with both staff and students, you will champion the effective use of library resources and uphold College policies.
English teaching experience and the ability to teach English Extension will be highly regarded.
This position works closely with KLA leaders and teachers to provide resources to teach the curriculum and support students in developing information literacy skills.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
NESA accredited teacher with teaching experience
Teacher librarianship, i.e. relevant teaching and librarianship qualifications as approved by ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) preferred, but not essential
Ability to work collaboratively with other staff to develop policies and processes relating to the management of library resources
Highly developed research skills, including the ability to prepare online guides for both students and teachers
Understanding of trends in contemporary young adult fiction to ensure a relevant and appealing collection for our students
English teaching experience and the ability to teach English Extension is highly desirable, but not essential
