CARETAKER - GENERAL ASSISTANT

25 hrs per week - Afternoons
Commencing 20 January 2025 

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain cleanliness of college grounds and outdoor facilities
  • Meet deliveries and distribute parcels, boxes and incoming supplies to/from the relevant locations
  • Set up for college assemblies, functions and other activities
  • General cleaning and washing down of facilities
  • Collect, empty and clean bins
  • Secure all buildings and site at end of day
  • General gardening & weeding
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance
  • Regularly inspect and maintain general equipment
  • Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance projects
  • Adhere to safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone

Essential Criteria

Successful applicants for the position will have:

  • a current Working with Children Check.
  • a current drivers' licence.
  • basic computer skills including internet, email & smartphone.
  • an interest and/or experience in the outdoors, grounds maintenance and/or facilities management.
  • a keen eye for detail to ensure that the grounds and facilities are maintained and well presented
  • a proactive and positive "can do" attitude.

Desirable:

  • relevant certificate or trade qualifications.
  • appropriate demonstrated experience in school operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean and safe grounds, setting up spaces for school events, and ensuring that tools and equipment comply with safety standards
