St Agnes Catholic High School is a caring community where the teaching staff are valued and appreciated by students and parents. We are a co-educational, comprehensive Catholic secondary school in the Diocese of Parramatta, catering for students across Years 7 to 12. The Role

As an experienced and exceptional classroom practitioner, you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. You will support identified students in Years 7-12 within an individual and group context. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate;

• highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students and staff

• exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of effective pedagogies

• proven capacity to differentiate the curriculum for a diverse range of abilities

• ability to set effective learning goals with students

• high levels of organisation and time management skills

• an ongoing commitment to professional development

• ability to work effectively in a team environment

• a commitment to Catholic Education and a clear understanding of the ethos of Catholic Schools.

• facilitate and assist with transition for students with diverse learning needs

• ensure that accurate and comprehensive information is available to all staff about students with additional needs in a timely and easily accessible manner

• develop and document Personalised Plans (PPs)

• develop Safety and Behaviour Plans for students if necessary

• participate in the NCCD Moderation process

• provide support to relevant students with disabilities and learning difficulties, both in class and in small groups across a broad range of subject areas, including intervention programs

• apply contemporary learning and teaching research and data analysis to classroom practice; supporting teachers if necessary

You will have attained:

• eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

• employee ID registration number with Parramatta Catholic Schools or a commitment to Registration to Teach in CSPD schools.

The desirable applicant will demonstrate a commitment to:

• a willingness to engage with research based intervention strategies in a variety of learning environments

• tracking student progress in literacy and numeracy with data, in order to work with teachers to develop their understanding of diverse learning needs.

• working collaboratively with staff to cater for diverse learning needs.

• an understanding of personalised planning for students with disability.
