St Joseph’s Primary School, Kingswood is seeking a passionate and committed Religious Education Coordinator to join the team on a temporary full-time basis commencing in Term 1, 2025 until the end of Term 3, 2025 (with a possibility of extension).

About the opportunity:
The Religious Education Coordinator is responsible to the Principal and shares in the leadership of the school community and contributes to the achievement of the school's missions and student learning outcomes. In addition, you will:
Ensure that the school delivers high quality contemporary learning and teaching for the community it serves which is embedded in the Catholic world view
Lead a collaborative ministry of witness and service and part of the evangelising mission of the Church
Contribute a deep knowledge of the Religious Education curriculum and in enhancing the liturgical, sacramental and spiritual life of the school
Build the necessary relationships with the Parish Priest, parents, learning community, Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese and other partners contributing to the work of Catholic schooling
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment
About you (selection criteria):
A strong commitment to the Catholic faith in practice and lifestyle, witness and modelling
A minimum of four years’ professional qualification in education
Accreditation to teach RE and the completion of a Masters of Religious Education/Theology or a Masters of Educational Leadership (if there are at least four units at Masters Level in Religious Education/Theology and/or Scripture)
Substantial currency in Religious Education pedagogy and knowledge of the Religious Education curriculum
An understanding of contemporary learning theory and practice, and an ability to ensure this is evident in the teaching within the school
Capacity to challenge and lead a school community that gives witness to the Catholic faith and its teaching and is aligned with the system strategic intent
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive peer relationships and engage actively within the school community
Commitment to modelling school values and integrity, inspired by the Presentation charism.
A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning and formation
Qualifications and Accreditations required:
Master of Religious Education/Theology or commitment to complete within four years of appointment
Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children
Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
Accreditation to teach RE

The Qualifications:
To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:
Tertiary qualification in the relevant areas of study or
Appropriate demonstrated experience
