St Pauls Catholic College, Greystanes is looking for a highly qualified Director of Wellbeing & Coaching to inspire and educate our students to join on a Permanent Full-time basis. This role offers you the chance to make a lasting impact in a supportive and dynamic learning environment.


About the opportunity:
The Director of Wellbeing & Coaching works to give expression to the Mission and Vision of the College in its Catholic and St Paul’s traditions through the management, care, and leadership of the pastoral team in the implementation of wellbeing programs, student management systems and pastoral care services to students, parents, and staff. Leading the Pastoral team of Leaders of Wellbeing/Year Coordinators and College Counsellors, they are guided and supported by the Principal and Assistant Principal to lead a holistic and enriching pastoral program that enhances student flourishing, engagement and a positive mindset for
student learning and relationships. 


They have professional and personal attributes that enable them to influence others to improve their practice and to manage the day-to-day support of student wellbeing, student management for effective learning and supporting families in the community with their adolescent sons. They provide strategic direction and support to a multi-faceted team,
managing challenging student behaviours with effective strategies and responses giving students the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and empathy and to support the reputation of the College in the wider community. 


Your areas of responsibility will include the following & more:

  • Creating a climate of care and restorative formation of students in the community
  • Leading and guiding staff in their pastoral care and management of students
  • Providing effective support for staff in managing student behaviour and developing clear and explicit expectations for students in the college
  • Managing all student conflict and behavioural matters with fairness and equity for all involved using the BMT (Behaviour Management tool, newly developed by the College) 
  • Manage and lead the team of Leaders of wellbeing/Year Coordinators, College Counsellors whilst also working alongside the Diversity/KLA teams.
  • Managing the budget for all initiatives and programs pertaining to Wellbeing.
  • Work alongside the CSPD Wellbeing team whilst seeking support with regards to attendance; challenging behaviours; enhancing a multi-faceted approach to wellbeing.
  • Reviewing policies and procedures across all areas of Wellbeing
  • Demonstrating a capacity to review student learning in the light of wellbeing and health considerations.
  • Undertake the coaching of teachers, namely new scheme teachers in conjunction with the leadership team in improving their teaching capacity and enhancing pedagogical and classroom management skills.
  • Oversee Wellbeing/Pastoral initiatives; programs for staff, students, and families.

About you:

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of St Paul’s along with:

  • Appropriate postgraduate tertiary qualifications- (or be working towards a master’s degree) and accreditation to teach in NSW. 
  • Extensive experience within education, student wellbeing and related strategies. At least 7 years teaching experience and have preferably held a 3 Point Coordinator role previously and have been a KLA/Year coordinator for at least 3 years.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and people skills 
  • Effective change and stakeholder management skills 
  • Demonstrated organisational and project and program management skills. 
  • Extensive experience in Pastoral Care and Wellbeing, ideally within the Catholic school’s education sector 
  • Capacity to ensure the implementation and currency of student wellbeing policies, procedures and resources supporting students, staff, and families
