About the Opportunity:

The ICT Officer works collaboratively with other school staff to provide support and assistance to teachers, students and school leadership in the successful delivery of school learning and pastoral outcomes. This position type typically engages in clerical, administrative, communication or technology services within a school. More specifically, the role encompasses:

  • Supervision and management of General Employees at a lower level including overseeing their recruitment, work allocation, professional development, performance appraisal and training;

  • Providing advice requiring knowledge of policies and/or the interpretation of rules or regulations within area of operation;

  • Applying inventory and purchasing control procedures;

  • Initiating and handling correspondence, which may include confidential correspondence;

  • Making recommendations for the development of ICT infrastructure considering the needs of new applications and equipment redundancy;

  • Providing technical direction for software upgrades, licensing, backup recovery, virus protection, printing systems, server maintenance procedures and network security; and

  • Supervising and maintaining hardware and software components of a school computer network
