St Matthew’s Primary, Windsor is seeking an full-time ongoing Assessment and Data Coordinator (1PT) to commence in January 2026. This role leads whole-school assessment practice, data analysis, and the implementation of formative and summative assessment to improve student learning.

 

The successful candidate will drive evidence-informed teaching, support staff in using data effectively, and coordinate school, system and national assessments.

 

The position includes 0.1 FTE dedicated release time (one day per fortnight) to effectively execute coordination duties. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for a two-year FIAT Coordinator appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of formative assessment, ensuring practices are valid, reliable, and aligned with NESA and the NSW Curriculum.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive, quality rubrics for all Key Learning Areas (KLAs), including English, Mathematics, HSIE, Science, CAPA, and PDHPE.

  • Facilitate data-informed conversations across staff, providing expert analysis of school, state, and national testing data (NAPLAN, PAT, AGAT, eWrite) to drive whole-school improvement initiatives.

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of systemic, state, and national testing requirements, ensuring smooth administration and post-test analysis.

  • Provide targeted professional learning, support, and mentoring to staff to enhance their assessment literacy, data interpretation, and the ability to use data effectively for differentiated instruction.

  • Coordinate the use of learning monitoring systems (e.g., MiniLit and MaqLit tracking) to monitor student progress within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.

  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

  • Possesses proven leadership experience in coordinating assessment and data systems within a school setting.

  • Has expertise in educational data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to translate data into actionable teaching strategies.

  • Highly developed communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills to lead staff professional growth.

  • Is accredited to teach Religious Education

  • Holds current NESA accreditation and a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
