Catherine McAuley Westmead is seeking a Director of Wellbeing to join the School Leadership Team on a permanent, full-time basis. This leadership role is central to building a safe, supportive, and dynamic environment where every student can flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Role
The Director of Wellbeing is a key leadership position (3 promotional points) reporting to the Assistant Principal and responsible to the Principal. This role champions student wellbeing across all aspects of school life by:

Overseeing House Patrons and supporting their work in fostering belonging and school spirit.

Leading the Student Leadership Program, ensuring opportunities that build agency, resilience, and community engagement.

Working with the Assistant Principal and Leaders of Learning Wellbeing to implement the Student Charter.

Coordinating wellbeing initiatives such as lunchtime groups, restorative practices, positive behaviour support, and peer mentoring.

Developing and reviewing programs that build resilience and foster inclusion for each year group.

Acknowledging and celebrating student achievements through merit, badge, and recognition systems.

Promoting a culture of belonging, respect, and resilience that is embedded in all school practices, policies, and relationships.
The Director of Wellbeing is also a member of the School Leadership Team and plays an integral role in promoting Catherine McAuley’s Mercy values, community spirit, and proactive wellbeing culture.
Qualifications & Experience

Current NESA Teacher Accreditation
-
Demonstrated leadership experience in wellbeing, pastoral care, or student engagement
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents

Experience developing and implementing wellbeing programs that support student growth and resilience
-
A commitment to ongoing professional learning and formation in faith and mission

Current Working with Children Check clearance (essential)
