TAS Teacher – Design, Textiles and Food Technology

Permanent Full-Time | Commencing Term 1, 2027

St Andrew’s College, Marayong is seeking a passionate and versatile TAS Teacher to join its supportive team on a permanent full-time basis commencing in Term 1, 2027.

The successful candidate will teach Design and Technology, Textiles Technology and Food Technology across Stages 5 and 6, as well as Technology Mandatory in Stage 4. The ability and willingness to teach across the full range of TAS specialist areas is essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about practical and project-based learning and developing students’ creativity, technical capability and confidence.

The successful candidate

• Deliver engaging and innovative learning experiences in Design and Technology, Textiles Technology and Food Technology across Stages 5 and 6.

• Teach Technology Mandatory across Stage 4 and contribute across the College’s TAS specialist areas.

• Develop students’ practical skills, creativity, critical thinking and understanding of design processes.

• Establish safe and well-managed practical learning environments.

• Apply contemporary and evidence-informed teaching practices to improve student outcomes.

• Differentiate teaching to support students with diverse learning needs, abilities and backgrounds.

• Use student data and assessment evidence to inform teaching and monitor progress.

• Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.

• Work collaboratively within the TAS faculty and broader College community.

• Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional learning and improvement.

Qualifications & Accreditations

• Hold recognised tertiary qualifications in Secondary Education.

• Hold current NESA accreditation or be eligible to obtain accreditation.

• Be qualified and experienced in relevant TAS subject areas.

• Demonstrate the capacity to teach Design and Technology, Textiles Technology and Food Technology across Stages 5 and 6.

• Demonstrate the capacity to teach Stage 4 Technology Mandatory across the TAS specialist areas.

• Hold a valid Working with Children Check.

• Provide Statements of Service where required.
