St John Paul II Catholic College is seeking a highly organised and proactive TAS Assistant to provide vital support to our Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) department. This is an ongoing part-time position from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM, commencing Term 1, 2026.
This role is focused primarily on assisting with the delivery of Food Technology and Hospitality classes. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of practical lessons, allowing teachers and students to focus fully on learning and creativity.
Job Summary
- Class Support: Assist teachers with the preparation, setup, and pack down of practical lessons.
- Supply & Inventory: Order food and consumables online, manage stock control, and maintain expense records.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas, including equipment and laundry (aprons, tea towels).
- Logistics: Collect local orders (e.g., from Woolworths) as required.
- Events: Assist with occasional after-hours catering and school functions.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in food handling, preparation, and hygiene.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
- Competent computer skills (including online ordering and spreadsheets).
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
