About the Opportunity

Bede Polding College, South Windsor is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Officer who will be responsible to support the other services of a school, including but not limited to cleaning, building and grounds maintenance.

In this role, you will play an integral part in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for our students and staff. Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Carrying out general repair and maintenance tasks

  • Supporting gardening and horticultural work, including preparation, planting, and ongoing care of garden areas

  • Operating, maintaining, and adjusting turf and grounds machinery under general supervision

  • Assisting with the safe application of fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides

  • Responding to alarms, following emergency procedures, preparing incident reports, and helping ensure the security of school buildings

  • Working alongside qualified tradespersons to support building and furniture maintenance

  • Undertaking additional duties as requested by the Principal or Principal’s Delegate, which may include operating the school’s security system at the beginning or end of a shift

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • While a Trade qualification (Certificate III) is not essential, you must have a skill level supported by relevant knowledge, training, or experience suited to the duties of the position. A trade qualification is highly desirable

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment medical assessment with our partnering provider to a satisfactory standard

  • A valid Working With Children Check (Employee)
