Secondary Teacher Learning Support 

 

Gilroy Catholic College at Castle Hill is looking for a skilled, contemporary and passionate Learning Support Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students.  This is a temporary full time position to commence Term 1 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage and support the Catholic culture, mission and religious ethos of Gilroy Catholic College
  • Give personal witness and model Gospel values while actively supporting the College Mission, “We all strive to learn, achieve and progress as we walk in the light of Christ”

  • Participate in liturgical and formation opportunities

  • Assist the Leader of Learning Support in the process of developing personalised plans.

  • Monitoring and supporting the development of Life Skills programs.

  • Supporting numeracy and literacy programs.

  • Working with CSPD in the transition of students with disabilities to the workplace (Post-school options).

  • Assisting with the effective completion of applications for disability provisions for NESA.

  • Case Managing students as directed by the Leader of Diversity and Teacher Development

  • Working with the Leader of Learning Support in collecting and evaluating student information during the Year 7 Enrolment process in order to provide accurate information to support class placement and case management processes.

  • Completing diagnostic testing of students as directed by the Leader of Learning Support

  • Any other duties as requested by the Principal

Qualifications and Experience

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree)
  • Statements of Service
