Key Responsibilities

Qualifications to teach Science

NESA accreditation essential

Strong pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how the identified subject areas are learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn the subject matter and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced

An understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning

Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback

Committed to the continual improvement of your teaching practice and take opportunities for personal and professional development

Work creatively and collaboratively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for yourself and your students

Able to motivate students to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning

The 2 Point Coordinator role will consist of:
- Supporting and implementing the goals and values of Catholic education and the strategic priorities of the School
- Demonstrating the highest levels of personal and professional integrity
- A committed, passionate and knowledgeable approach to teaching and learning within the subject area
- Involvement in the selection and induction of new staff
- Guiding staff in managing and supporting students on Personalised Plans and Behaviour Plans
- Collaborating with students, staff, leadership and parents in order to support the needs of the community
- Working with CSPD Support & Learning Teams
- Driving the pedagogical vision of the School within the broader educational life of the School
- Leading staff with vision, purpose and a strong commitment to excellence
- Promoting and understanding the importance of assessment practice, data analysis and feedback to enhance learning
- Preparing students for changing demands of a global community
- Establishing a positive relationship with students, their families and the broader community
