We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Advisor to join our People & Culture team on a 12-month temporary contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant and timely payroll services across a large and dynamic organisation.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Advisor is responsible for supporting payroll operations and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries while contributing to continuous improvement across payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of salaries and wages in line with EBAs, awards, and employment contracts
- Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries across the organisation
- Prepare and reconcile payroll tax, PAYG, FBT, superannuation, and year-end reporting
- Maintain payroll system records including leave, timesheets, and employee data
- Generate payroll reports and support statutory reporting requirements
- Support and guide Payroll Officers, including assisting with training as required

- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing within a complex environment
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting requirements
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (desirable)
