Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) is seeking a skilled and passionate Specialist Teacher - Sensory Disability (Vision and Hearing)  to join our Inclusive Learning Team within the Student Support Directorate, we are looking for someone who has suitable qualifications and/or experience in supporting students with vision and hearing impairment. 

 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful system-wide impact by strengthening inclusive practice across our schools and supporting improved learning outcomes for students with additional needs and disability. Permanent, Part time position working 7 days a fortnight!

Key Responsibilities

As a Specialist Teacher, you will play a critical role in fostering inclusive school cultures through the effective implementation of personalised learning and reasonable adjustments. Working in partnership with school leadership teams and teachers, you will provide expert advice, build capacity and support the development of inclusive practices that promote access, participation and success for every learner.

 

This role operates across schools, supporting sustainable change through collaboration and a gradual release model of professional support.

 

  • Support schools in understanding and implementing the Personalised Planning process
  • Provide specialised teaching support aimed at building teacher capacity through coaching and collaboration
  • Offer expert advice to school leaders and teachers on disability and additional needs in alignment with CSPD guidelines
  • Work collaboratively to ensure inclusive practice that maximises access, participation and learning outcomes
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives within the Student Support Directorate
  • Maintain compliance with CSPD policies, procedures and child safe standards

About you

You are an experienced educator who:

 

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of inclusive education and personalised learning practices

  • Has experience supporting students with additional needs and disability

  • Builds positive, professional relationships with leaders and teachers

  • Communicates clearly and confidently across diverse audiences

  • Applies strong planning, problem-solving and organisational skills

  • Is committed to continuous learning and professional growth

  • Supports the ethos and mission of the Catholic Church

 

Essential Qualifications;

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or a relevant field

  • Demonstrated experience in inclusive education and personalised learning

  • Sound understanding of policy, compliance and emerging good practice in supporting students with additional needs

  • Capacity to work collaboratively across multiple school settings
