Safeguarding Specialist

Job Summary

CSPD is seeking a skilled Safeguarding Specialist to join our team on a permanent full time basis, in this position you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety across our schools. You’ll lead investigations, deliver safeguarding training, and support the implementation of Child Safe Standards! You’ll ensure our people, processes and practices uphold the highest standards of care.

What you’ll do:

  • Conducting factual investigations in relation to child protection matters including undertaking interviews, risk assessments and documentation including liaising with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. NSW Office of the Children’s Guardian, Department of Communities & Justice,  NSW Police and legal firms)

  • Contributing to the design and delivery of training to ensure employees, volunteers and contractors are aware of their obligations regarding safeguarding and to raise awareness of safeguarding and wellbeing (child protection) policies and practices

  • Supporting the implementation of the Child Safe Standards and associated tasks across our schools

  • Collaborating with stakeholders in the coordination of safeguarding matters for CSPD and associated tasks

  • Supporting the development and review of safeguarding policies, procedures and guidelines

Qualifications, Accreditations & Experience
