About the Opportunity
Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) has an exciting opportunity for two Parent Animators to join the Mission team. These are part-time (2 or 3 days a week), temporary opportunities funded for 2026 and 2027 as a pilot program. The roles will be based in Parramatta and will include opportunities for engagement in schools, as well as hybrid work-from-home arrangements.
As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Parent Animator supports CSPD schools by developing and delivering faith formation initiatives that engage parents as active partners in their children’s spiritual and educational journey. Working collaboratively with school and diocesan leaders, the role fosters a culture of faith, belonging, and shared mission across the school community.

You will be accountable for:

Partnering with school leaders and Religious Education Coordinators in pilot schools to co-design and implement parent formation initiatives aligned with the new Religious Education curriculum.

Developing and curating engaging parent formation resources connected to classroom learning, school liturgical events and key community celebrations.

Building and maintaining a library of high-quality formation resources that support parents in understanding the Catholic identity and mission of CSPD schools.

Designing, coordinating and facilitating parent formation experiences, including retreat days, pilgrimages and outreach opportunities in partnership with external agencies

Ensuring the theological integrity of all formation resources and experiences through research, review and alignment with Church teaching and CSPD mission priorities.

Collaborating closely with Mission leaders, school staff, and diocesan agencies to ensure all parent formation programs are relevant, inclusive and responsive to the needs of diverse school communities.

Providing ongoing advice, support and professional learning for school and system leaders to strengthen engagement with parents in the mission and faith life of their school communities.
Qualifications, Accreditations and Experience

Tertiary qualifications in the relevant area of study, preferable Master’s level qualification in Theology

Experience in designing and implementing adult formation

Demonstrated experience in working effectively with diverse Catholic school communities

Demonstrated experience in working effectively with clergy and parish communities
