Key Responsibilities
Applications are invited from outstanding educational leaders to apply for the position of Leading Teacher Jarara. The Leading Teacher is responsible for student-centred personalised transition planning for;
Pathway Planning

Personalised post-school planning

Connections, both educational and cultural, to opportunities related to students strengths, interests and motivation including - the follow up opportunities such as white cards, expo’s, industry opportunities)

Mentoring Cultural Officers - similar to the way that graduate teachers have a supervising teacher, in order to build confidence and competency working within an education system

Leading the agenda for pathway planning

Developing systems to manage data

Building on existing frameworks to improve information dissemination to students

Mentoring Cultural Officers in programming for cultural programs in schools

Networking with stakeholders (education, employment, culture, etc)

Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Education
- Working with Children Check clearance
- Teacher accreditation at proficient level or higher
- A full, valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated experience implementing programmes and strategies responsive to the well-being and learning needs of students, increasing their engagement
- Experience in program writing
- Experience working with external service providers for successful transition to work readiness programs and community participation
