Job Summary
**Temporary full time position until October 2026!
As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the Health & Safety Advisor is accountable for providing best practice health and safety advice, support and partnering with the staff and leaders of our diverse network of schools and offices to embed a culture of safety.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated and friendly Health and Safety team as a Health and Safety Advisor on a Temporary full time basis.
Building a culture of safety is a key focus and the health and safety team are championing the processes and systems required. This is a great role for someone who is looking to broaden their experience and share their expertise in health and safety.
The Health & Safety Advisor is accountable for:

Providing advice and support to facilitate the delivery and management of health & safety across the business, responding to ad-hoc requests and undertaking project work
Developing, monitoring and reviewing health & safety procedures and processes, to day to day practices to ensure compliance is met and actions are implemented for continuous improvement -
Creating communications and resources for stakeholders to build awareness and understanding of key health and safety risks and issues

Undertaking incident investigations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and following up on the delivery of corrective actions

Working with stakeholders to implement, review and monitor risk management practices

Developing relationships, engaging and coaching to build understanding and create a safe environment for discussion and reporting
Qualifications, Accreditations & Experience
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will be a passionate and experienced Health and Safety professional along with the following:

Tertiary qualifications in health and safety or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience

Proven experience in a similar role in health and safety
-
Demonstrated experience in implementing health and safety systems, policies, procedures and associated frameworks
A passion for health and safety and a track record of bringing people along on the journey in a large and complex environment -
A natural aptitude for fostering environments of collaboration and teamwork

Skilled in quickly establishing rapport, communicating and engaging with stakeholders along with a ‘can do’ attitude to drive outcomes
