About the Opportunity

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking applications for the role of Head of Secondary Learning. 

As part of the mission of Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD), the Head of Secondary Learning is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality learning outcomes across CSPD Secondary schools. Reporting to the Executive General Manager - Learning Outcomes, this role will collaborate with Heads of Performance to enhance Principals’ leadership capacity. 

The Head of Secondary Learning facilitates consistent educational practices and initiatives across Secondary schools to ensure continuous improvement in student learning.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Secondary Learning, you will be tasked with leading the development and implementation of high-quality curriculum frameworks and resources to support effective teaching and learning within CSPD secondary schools. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering professional learning programs for teachers, focusing on evidence-based instructional practices. You will collaborate with school leaders to ensure consistency and excellence in the delivery of learning and teaching, while also working with Heads of Performance to implement strategies that improve student outcomes. 

Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring the accessibility of evidence-based resources for teachers and leading educational initiatives that enhance student engagement and overall learning experience. Essential Criteria

  • Capacity and desire to contribute to the ethos and strategic intent of Catholic schools Parramatta Diocese.

  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge of pedagogy and contemporary educational practice

  • Highly developed capacity to effectively lead a team and to promote professional growth and school improvement.

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Current NSW Teacher Accreditation

  • Ideally 10+ years of teaching and or 5+ years of Educational Leadership experience 

  • Current Working With Children Clearance
