Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) is seeking a skilled Assessment Specialist - Speech Pathologist to join our Student Support Directorate. This role is permanent part-time, 3 days per week and is part of the Assessment Team within the Wellbeing Delivery stream, supporting schools through high-quality speech and language assessments that enhance student learning and wellbeing.This is an opportunity to apply your expertise in speech pathology to make a meaningful difference by identifying student needs and providing evidence-based recommendations that support schools, families and students.

 

Key Responsibilities

As an Assessment Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments, including diagnostic assessments, for students
  • Analyse assessment outcomes and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for schools
  • Prepare high-quality written reports and communicate findings to school staff and families
  • Liaise with teachers, school leaders, families and students to build a holistic understanding of student needs
  • Collaborate with CSPD support teams and external professionals to strengthen student support pathways
  • Support schools in responding effectively to student wellbeing and learning needs
  • Contribute to the development and review of personalised support plans for students
  • Participate in professional learning and contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology
  • Demonstrated experience conducting speech and language diagnostic assessments
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience administering assessments and producing comprehensive reports
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with schools, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • A commitment to continuous professional learning and improvement
  • An understanding of, and support for, the mission and ethos of the Catholic Church
