Cerdon College, Merrylands is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join our vibrant school community and enrich the lives of our students. This is a temporary full-time position for 2027, teaching Years 7–10 Science, with the opportunity to teach Stage 6 Science depending on experience.

The Science Teacher will fit the following criteria:

• A strong pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how Science is learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn, and how the learning and teaching of Science can be enhanced.

• Demonstrated ability to teach Science across Years 7–10, with the ability to teach Stage 6 Science highly regarded.

• An understanding of our pedagogy being based around Project/Problem Based Learning and Flipped Classroom.

• Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students’ needs in order to maximise student learning.

• Sound understanding of learning environments, lesson planning, use of technology, teaching practices, and the delivery of assessment and learning feedback.

• Commitment to the continual improvement of teaching practice and engagement in opportunities for ongoing professional development.

• Ability to work creatively and constructively within a range of communities inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.
