Cerdon College, Merrylands is seeking a passionate Science Lab Assistant to join our supportive team working 56 hours per fortnight. This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday commencing 2026!
The Teacher Assistant provides assistance in the form of support and assistance to teachers and students in a classroom setting or to individuals and groups of students.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical science lessons across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Clean, maintain, and safely store laboratory equipment and materials after use.

Assist teachers during experiments and practical activities where required.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements, including the safe handling and disposal of chemicals and biological materials.

Maintain accurate records of chemical inventories and equipment.

Support the development of new experiments and demonstrations to enhance student learning.

Assist in maintaining an organised, efficient, and safe working environment in the lab and preparation areas.

Participate in professional learning and safety training as required.
