We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance & Facilities Officer to join our Team. In this hands-on role you will provide and coordinate high-quality maintenance across our college campus to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate maintenance operations, supervise contractors, manage workflows, and perform a range of maintenance and repair tasks. The position requires sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to plan and prioritise work effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Identify and carry out maintenance tasks and inspections to keep buildings, equipment and grounds in optimal condition.

Keep grounds and facilities presentable, clean, functional and safe

Set up for various College events,

Lift and move furniture and equipment,

Manage maintenance requests through the College’s maintenance system

Schedule and carry out preventative and reactive maintenance.

Coordinate, supervise and liaise with contractors and external service providers.

Maintain accurate records and stock levels, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained.

Open and secure school facilities as required and assist with after-hours events or maintenance when required.

Monitor safety practices and compliance with WHS standards and CSPD Policy.

Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures.

Exercise high precision trades skills using various materials and/or specialised techniques.

Actively contribute to asset and maintenance planning in collaboration with the Business Manager.
About You
You are a proactive and reliable maintenance professional who takes pride in your work, values safety, and thrives in a busy, school-based environment. You are equally confident working independently or as part of a team and have the skills and initiative to manage competing priorities.
Essential Requirements:

Trade qualification or Certificate III in a relevant field

Demonstrated experience in maintenance and physical capacity to perform manual tasks.

Proactive problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative team approach

Ability to work autonomously and effective time management skills
-
Sound technology skills to manage maintenance systems and records.

A Current NSW Driver’s licence
Desirable:
-
Experience in maintenance operations in a school or similar settings.
-
Demonstrated experience in leading others.
-
WHS General Construction Induction (White Card).
