The Maths Teacher will fit the following criteria

  • Strong knowledge base of the subject’s content, how mathematics is learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn mathematics and how the learning of mathematics can be enhanced.

  • Make a positive difference to the learning outcomes of the students taught.

  • Sensitive and responsive to all aspects of the context in which they teach including use of technology and other resources, teaching practices and ways in which assessment and feedback is provided to students.

  • Commitment to the continual improvement of teaching practice and taking opportunities for personal professional development.

  • Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for self and students.
