St Luke’s in Marsden Park is seeking a skilled and passionate English Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students. This position is an Ongoing Full-Time position commencing in Term 4 - 2026.

Position Criteria

At St Luke’s, teachers strategically work in teams across a stage to collaboratively plan, prepare, teach, assess and evaluate student learning and are required to: 

  • Support and assist the evangelising mission of Catholic education;

  • Use diagnostic data, summative data and formative data, including observations, annotations and work samples, to inform ‘next steps’ for students;

  • Have high expectations of students;

  • Demonstrate deep understanding of curriculum and pedagogy

  • Regularly provide students with feedback as part of the teaching and learning cycle; and,

  • Know and apply NESA and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) requirements.

  • Qualifications to teach English Stages 4–6 Strong knowledge of explicit teaching and evidence‑based approaches to English learning

  • Ability to differentiate and cater for diverse student needs to maximise learning

  • Solid understanding of effective learning environments, lesson design, technology use, assessment and feedback

  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and continual improvement of practice

  • Collaborative, creative team member who sets high expectations for self and students

  • Able to inspire and motivate students to achieve and develop a love of learning. 

Qualifications, Accreditations and Experience

  • Tertiary Qualification in Education (or fourth year student)

  • NESA Accreditation (Conditional Accreditation also accepted)

  • Statements of Service

  • Commitment to meeting CSPD’s Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead requirements as part of employment
