Xavier College is seeking a skilled RE/HSIE Teacher, who is an enthusiastic, talented professional able to work collaboratively and bring innovation and creativity to their learning areas with experience in teaching Secondary RE/HSIE. The role is permanent full-time commencing Term 2, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will fit the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, academic and pastoral dimension of College life. 

  • Have experience teaching RE/HSIE

  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education within CSPD is essential.

  • See themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning

  • To collaborate and work as a team with all leaders and teachers to improve the learning of all students

  • Integrate digital technology as an enabler and accelerator for student learning and professional learning;

  • Demonstrate an understanding of curriculum and pedagogy

  • Respond to complex real-world questions and authentic problems;

  • Know and apply NESA and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) requirements.

  • Have an understanding and application of the whole school policies and procedures concerning WHS, Safeguarding, and student welfare.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) 
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
