Xavier Catholic College, Llandilo are seeking an experienced and committed Teacher to be part of our school community on a permanent full-time basis. This position will attract a 2 Point Coordinator allowance, you will be working as a Leader of Learning - Science on a full time basis to lead the learning and teaching within the school. This is a perfect opportunity if you are looking to expand your skills and knowledge in leading the development of student learning in the Science field!

What you'll bring

To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment with the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:

  • An understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches

  • Have a thorough knowledge of the Science curriculum

  • Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how Science is learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn Science and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced.

  • Knowledge and implementation of a variety of online and multimedia programs to support student learning 

  • A demonstrated understanding of what constitutes effective, developmentally appropriate strategies in learning and teaching programs

  • Ability to make content meaningful to students

  • A commitment to work with and within a collaborative team environment

  • Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills

  • Able to assist in motivating staff and students to achieve and develop a life-long love of learning. 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)
  • Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
