About the Opportunity

Emmaus is seeking a skilled and passionate Music Teacher to be part of our school community and enrich the lives of our students. This position is Temporary Full-Time commencing in Term 4, 2026.

What you'll be doing

  • Know the students and know how they learn through an inclusive and learner-centred pedagogy 

  • Know the content and how to teach it with expertise as a Music teacher including a mix of pedagogies, instructional strategies and technologies i.e. notation programs, digital audio workstations, sound systems etc. Ability to lead instrumental and worship ensembles, and direct large group singing rehearsals preferred.

  • Assist, lead and collaborate with the learning team to design and produce highly effective teaching programs reflecting data, the strategic direction of the College, the curriculum, and resources

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, academic and pastoral dimension of College life.

  • Asses, provide feedback, and report on student learning

  • Participate in staff professional development in partnership with the College

  • Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community inclusive of producing events, concerts, and performances for the College and the wider community

  • Active listening skills and the ability to engage with and builds strong positive relationships with members of the College community including employees, students and parents

  • The ability to cater for students with diverse backgrounds, needs and abilities

  • Willingness to teach another subject

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education degree or fourth‑year student

  • NESA Accreditation (Conditional accepted)

  • Statements of Service

  • Valid Working With Children Check

  • Strong communication skills

  • Commitment to CSPD’s Accreditation to Work, Teach & Lead requirements
