About the Opportunity

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) is seeking an experienced and collaborative IT Service Manager to join our People & Technology Directorate on a permanent, full-time basis.

As the IT Service Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality IT services that support teaching, learning and business operations across CSPD. Leading a dedicated team responsible for service desk and field support, you will ensure reliable, customer-focused IT services while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and service innovation.

Working closely with schools, business stakeholders and external service providers, you will play a key role in enhancing service performance, strengthening governance and ensuring technology services continue to meet the evolving needs of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing IT Service team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee the delivery of Service Desk and Field Support services, ensuring reliable, customer-focused support across CSPD.

  • Drive service excellence through performance monitoring, process improvement and effective IT service management practices.

  • Lead change and release management activities to support the successful delivery of technology services.

  • Build strong relationships with schools, stakeholders and vendors to ensure services meet organisational needs.

  • Manage operational resources, including budgets, assets and workforce capability, to support sustainable service delivery.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience leading IT service or service desk teams within a complex environment.

  • Strong knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and service delivery best practice.

  • Experience driving service improvement, managing operational performance and leading change initiatives.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and relationship management skills.

  • Valid drivers license for the ability to attend CSPD sites across the dioceses 

  • Experience managing Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request processes.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret service metrics and drive continual improvement initiatives.

  • Experience developing service reporting, KPIs and executive-level dashboards.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on customer outcomes.

Desirable

  • ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL frameworks.

  • Experience within the education sector or another large, multi-site organisation.

  • Experience leading technology transformation or continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with ITSM platforms such as JSM, ServiceNow or similar.
