St Joseps Primary Schofields are currently seeking an Ongoing Full-Time Grounds Maintenance Officer, commencing in 2026, to support the upkeep and presentation of our beautiful school grounds. This role has a strong focus on gardening and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our community.

About The Role

This hands-on, full-time position will see you working both independently and as part of our friendly team to maintain a clean, safe, and vibrant outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors.

 

Key responsibilties include; 

 

  • General gardening tasks such as planting, pruning, mulching, and weeding

  • Lawn mowing and maintenance using turf machinery

  • Minor grounds repairs and upkeep

  • Applying fertilisers and garden treatments under supervision

  • Assisting with basic maintenance tasks as needed

  • Supporting site safety and security in line with school procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

 

  • Have experience in gardening or grounds maintenance

  • Be self-motivated and reliable, with a strong work ethic

  • Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines

  • Enjoy working outdoors and take pride in maintaining clean, green spaces

  • Support the mission and ethos of Catholic education
