Penola College is seeking a skilled English/HSIE Teacher, who is an enthusiastic, talented professional able to work collaboratively and bring innovation and creativity to their learning areas with experience in teaching Secondary English & HSIE. The role is permanent full-time commencing asap! 

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will fit the following criteria:

 

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Catholic Education and a willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic, academic and pastoral dimension of College life. 

  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the teaching of English & HSIE to secondary students

  • See themselves as learners and be committed to ongoing professional learning

  • Understand how to differentiate learning to cater for students’ needs to maximise student learning.

  • Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.

  • Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.

  • Know and apply NESA and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) requirements.

  • Have an understanding and application of the whole school policies and procedures concerning WHS, Safeguarding, and student welfare.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)

  • Valid Working with Children Check (for employment purposes)
