Commercial Officer – People and Technology

Temporary Full-Time | 12-Month Position | Parramatta 

Join Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) and use your commercial, financial and procurement expertise to support technology services that make a meaningful difference across our schools.

We are seeking an organised and commercially focused People and Technology Commercial Officer to join our People and Technology Planning team on a temporary full-time basis for 12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement or commercial professional who enjoys working collaboratively, managing competing priorities and delivering value-for-money outcomes within a complex organisation.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the People and Technology Commercial Manager, you will support the delivery of commercial, financial and procurement services across the People and Technology Directorate.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to coordinate procurement activities, administer contracts and licences, support financial planning and ensure compliance with CSPD policies and processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate financial management activities for technology platforms, including cost analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

  • Support procurement activities for software, hardware and professional services.

  • Review documentation accompanying purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Raise purchase requisitions and coordinate the receipting of invoices.

  • Administer technology contracts, licences and supplier agreements throughout their lifecycle.

  • Maintain accurate contract and procurement records in line with approved processes.

  • Interpret and communicate contract requirements, terms and conditions to stakeholders.

  • Monitor contract performance and identify commercial risks.

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of procurement, vendor and contract management guidelines.

  • Build effective working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers across the organisation.

  • Contribute to the delivery of strategic initiatives and operational plans.

About You

You will bring:

  • Experience coordinating procurement activities across the sourcing lifecycle, preferably within an IT or technology environment.

  • Experience administering supplier agreements and contracts throughout their lifecycle.

  • The ability to interpret and clearly explain contract requirements, terms and conditions.

  • Working knowledge of procurement, contract management and compliance requirements.

  • Strong analytical, administrative and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Effective communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

  • A collaborative approach and a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.

  • A willingness to support the mission and ethos of Catholic education.
