Classroom and Learning Support Officer – St Andrew’s College, Marayong

Temporary Part-Time | 60 Hours per Fortnight
12 October 2026 to 27 January 2027

St Andrew’s College, Marayong is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Classroom and Learning Support Officer to join its welcoming school community on a temporary part-time basis.

Working closely with teachers and the College’s learning support team, you will provide individualised assistance to help a student participate safely, confidently and fully in school life. This role will include supporting learning, engagement, mobility and personal care needs while always maintaining the student’s dignity, independence and wellbeing.

About the Role

The successful candidate will:

• Provide individualised learning and wellbeing support under the direction of teachers.

• Assist the student to participate in classroom activities and wider school life.

• Provide respectful mobility and personal care assistance as required.

• Encourage the student’s independence, confidence and social inclusion.

• Support safe transitions between classrooms and other areas of the College.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and relevant professionals.

• Follow individual support, health and safety plans.

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, discretion and confidentiality.

About You

You will demonstrate:

• A compassionate, patient and student-centred approach.

• Experience supporting young people with disability or additional needs.

• Confidence providing mobility and personal care support.

• The ability to preserve a student’s dignity, privacy and independence.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to follow established plans, procedures and directions.

• A collaborative and flexible approach to working within a school team.

Qualifications and Accreditations

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a valid Working with Children Check.

• Have relevant experience supporting students with disability or additional needs.

• Hold, or be willing to undertake, relevant personal care and mobility support training.

A Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support, current First Aid Certificate or other relevant qualifications would be highly regarded.
