Sacred Heart Primary School in Mount Druitt is seeking a Teacher’s Aide to support students in a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.
This temporary full-time position (5 days per week) offers an exciting opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student learning and wellbeing.

As a Teacher’s Aide you will play a key role in fostering inclusive learning experiences for students with diverse learning needs. You will work closely with teachers, support staff and families to ensure all students are supported to reach their full potential. This role is ideally suited to those with qualifications or actively studying for a qualification in education, such as Certificate III in School Based Education Support or with experience in similar roles.
Key Responsibilities
● Adapt classroom activities and learning materials under teacher direction to meet individual student needs.
● Support the implementation of behaviour support plans and personalised learning goals.
● Assist in delivering targeted small-group and individual learning support in literacy and numeracy.
● Prepare, organise and maintain classroom and intervention resources.
● Observe, monitor and communicate student progress to teachers to support ongoing planning.
● Work collaboratively with classroom teachers and the broader Learning Support team to ensure consistent support for students.
● Support students with additional learning and behavioural needs, fostering positive engagement and smooth transitions into mainstream learning environments.
● Assist students with organisation, routines and transitions throughout the school day.
● Maintain professional confidentiality and follow school procedures related to wellbeing, safety and student support.
● Promote and uphold the values, mission and Catholic ethos of Sacred Heart Primary School.
What the Candidate Will Bring
● Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs in a school setting.
● Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and families.
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team while showing initiative when required.
● Patience, flexibility and a calm, proactive approach when supporting students with additional needs or challenging behaviours.
● Experience implementing small-group literacy and numeracy interventions (highly desirable).
● A commitment to inclusive practices and supporting every child to succeed.
