Our Finance & Infrastructure directorate is seeking a Asset, Facilities & Operations Senior Manager, accountable for the strategic and operational management of CSPD's property and facilities portfolio, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for purpose. 

The role leads asset lifecycle planning, facilities operations, maintenance delivery, contractor performance and portfolio compliance activities across school and support team locations.  

 

Key Focus Areas:

The Asset, Facilities & Operations Senior Manager will be measured on their contribution to the following areas: 

  • Stakeholder satisfaction across school and support team locations relating to facilities, maintenance and asset management services  

  • Operational performance and condition of the CSPD property and facilities portfolio across school and support team locations 

  • Compliance with building, safety, and statutory obligations across the asset portfolio 

  • Contractor and service provider performance against agreed standards and contractual obligations 

  • Asset lifecycle planning and the accuracy and currency of portfolio asset data 

  • Capability, performance and professional development of team members through effective leadership, mentoring, coaching and continuous improvement practices

Key Responsibilities

The Asset, Facilities & Operations Senior Manager is accountable for: 

  • Leading the operational management of the CSPD property, facilities, and asset portfolio, ensuring school and support team locations are maintained to a safe, functional, and compliant standard 

  • Overseeing the planning and delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance programs, directing the team members in the prioritisation and scheduling of works 

  • Managing contractor and service provider relationships across the portfolio, overseeing performance against contractual obligations and driving continuous improvement in service delivery outcomes 

  • Overseeing compliance with relevant building codes, safety standards, and legislative requirements across the portfolio, ensuring obligations are monitored, documented, and escalated appropriately 

  • Leading asset lifecycle planning activities, including condition assessments, asset register maintenance, and inputs into capital works prioritisation to support the Head of Property, Asset & Development 

  • Managing the facilities and asset management operational budget, monitoring expenditure against approved budgets and providing variance reporting and forecasts

  • Providing technical advisory input on property and facilities matters to internal stakeholders, including schools, and supporting the resolution of complex or escalated issues 

  • Overseeing the maintenance and accuracy of portfolio documentation, including lease schedules, compliance registers, and asset records 

  • Leading and mentoring team members to ensure staff have the knowledge, skills and support to achieve objectives, fostering ongoing professional development and ensuring best practice and continuous improvement 

  • Develop and manage the operational handover of completed capital projects into the asset and facilities management environment, ensuring asset data, maintenance requirements, warranties, compliance documentation and operational responsibilities are effectively transitioned
